A book and a cup of tea

Crowley stopped in the doorway, eyes glued to the scene in front of him. He wondered if he would ever get used to the sight of Aziraphale in his bed: the angel was leaning back against a pillow, an open book in one hand and a steaming cup of tea in the other, his blond hair and sky-blue pyjamas standing out sharply against the dark bed sheets. The whole thing should have looked weird, wrong, but it didn't. Aziraphale looked absolutely perfect there, as if that was where he was supposed to be. Where he belonged.

Sensing Crowley's presence, Aziraphale looked up from his book and smiled.

"Are you planning to stand there all night?"

"What if I am?" Crowley asked, getting defensive and more than a little embarrassed about being caught staring. Again.

Aziraphale shrugged nonchalantly, but he had that twinkle in his eye that Crowley had come to know very well.

"As you prefer. I would very much like for you to join me, though."

He took a sip of tea, eyes never leaving Crowley's, and the demon knew he didn't stand a chance.
