Summary: Bela receives an unexpected visit on his birthday.

The following story is a mere work of F I C T I O N, meaning it is 100% made up. None of the situations described here ever happened, and even if they did, I have no way of knowing. This is not about spreading rumours or, worse, libel. The people portrayed in this story are real, but I am NOT claiming they did what I wrote. I use their "public personas" and build stories around them as if they were fictional characters.

Unexpected

Bela woke up with a start and looked around his bedroom with unfocused eyes. His heart was hammering in his chest, like it always did when he was woken suddenly.

Someone was ringing the bell. Insistently. In the morning silence the shrill noise sounded even sharper. Bela glanced at the clock on the bedside table. 9:00 am. He was going to kill whoever had dared bother him at such an ungodly hour. A slow, painful death.

He threw back the duvet and stood up, wearing a positively murderous expression as he walked to the entrance. He opened the door and found himself face to face, or rather face to breastbone, with Farin.

Bela was flabbergasted. "Jan?"

"Yep," Farin grinned. "The one and only."

"Aren't you supposed to be on the other side of the world or something? What the hell are you doing here? And so early in the morning too."

"Well now, that's no way of greeting your best friend, who left a nice and warm country and came back to Germany to wish you happy birthday. Here, I even brought something to drink," he added holding up a carton of apple juice.

Bela was speechless. "You're... You... You're totally crazy, you know that?"

Farin's grin couldn't get any bigger. "Are you going to let me in or do you want me to spend the rest of the day in the doorway?"

Bela stepped aside and let him in. Farin gave him a brilliant smile as he walked past and went into the kitchen. He put the apple juice on the table and took off his coat.

Bela followed him with a puzzled expression on his face. "Really, Jan, what are you..."

Farin didn't let him finish. He cupped Bela's cheek with his hand and leaned down to kiss him. Bela had never been able to resist Farin's kisses. He placed a hand on his friend's waist and tilted his head slightly to the side, moaning softly as the kiss grew deeper.

Eventually Farin pulled back. He brushed his thumb softly over Bela's cheekbone and smiled.

"Happy birthday, love."
